Following a recent move to larger premises, the company has increased its operational space from 2,250 sq. ft to 3,350 sq. ft. The expansion provides additional warehouse storage, increased office accommodation and greater capacity to maintain high levels of customer service. The additional space will enable the company to hold significantly larger stocks of printers, consumables and spare parts, improving product availability for customers while creating additional room for its expanding team. Managing Director Ross Cracknell said: “We’ve always reinvested back into the business. Every decision we’ve made has been about improving the service we deliver to customers and ensuring we’re ready for the next stage of growth. “Taking on the neighbouring premises gives us the space we need today, while creating capacity for tomorrow. It’s another investment in our customers, our team and the future of the business.” The facility expansion marks the latest milestone in Evolve Business Solutions’ longterm growth strategy, following the recruitment of additional staff and continued investment in technology, vehicles and customer support. https://evolve-businesssolutions.co.uk Parallel partnership Parallel has announced a new partnership with multiple race winner Aron Taylor-Smith. The company has joined forces with the Laser Tools Racing driver for the remainder of the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season. Following a behind-the-scenes insight into Taylor-Smith’s operation and the wider BTCC paddock at Snetterton, Parallel identified significant opportunities to develop new relationships within the Taylor-Smith extensive partner network whilst also benefiting from the exposure associated with the nation’s most widely followed motorsport championship. The timing of the partnership coincides with what has undoubtedly been one of the strongest seasons of Taylor-Smith’s BTCC career. Since joining Laser Tools Racing for the 2026 campaign, the Irishman has enjoyed a genuine breakthrough year, consistently challenging at the front of the field and firmly establishing himself as one of the championship’s standout performers. Managing Director Gavin Auckland has been a lifelong fan of the BTCC, making this partnership a particularly special milestone for the company. “I’ve followed the BTCC for many years, so it’s fantastic to finally become involved with the championship through Aron and Laser Tools Racing. “As a company, relationships are at the heart of everything we do, and we see enormous potential to connect with Aron’s existing partner network while supporting him during what is proving to be an outstanding season. We’re excited to be part of the journey for the remainder of the year.” Aron Taylor-Smith added: “It’s brilliant to welcome Parallel on board for the rest of the season. From our first conversations it was clear that Gavin, Paul and the team understood the value that BTCC partnerships can deliver, and I’m looking forward to helping introduce them to our incredibly supportive network of partners while continuing to push for more success on track. Hopefully, we can finish the season strongly together.” Parallel branding will feature on TaylorSmith’s Laser Tools Racing Corolla as the team continues its pursuit of further victories and championship success throughout the remainder of the 2026 BTCC season. https://parallel-group.co.uk Oyster acquires Office Options customer base Oyster has announced the acquisition of the customer base of Office Options (Midlands) Ltd from the appointed liquidator. Over five years, the investment in Project Sirius is expected to be between £50 million – £100 million. To help deliver the strategy, SCC is recruiting more than 100 AI specialists to work across these key areas in markets including the UK, France, Spain and the Middle East. As one of the UK’s leading procurement frameworks for the education sector, CPC recognises suppliers that consistently deliver outstanding service, value and support to their members. www.sharp.co.uk Torben Mowka Vasion launches intelligent print automation Vasion has announced the availability of Intelligent Print Automation (IPA), enabling organisations to leverage the File > Print muscle memory of the workforce to keep data from going dark. Every time employees click File > Print to send documents to printers, save them to PDFs or scan them to unmanaged folders, enterprise data becomes unstructured and quietly goes dark. Dark data escapes compliance controls, bypasses AI workflow and quickly becomes a liability. IPA seamlessly integrates with any application to intelligently route documents to virtually any destination, ensuring organisations’ business intelligence does not go dark again. Ryan Wedig, Co-founder and CEO, Vasion, said: “The market that was supposed to solve this problem was full of companies rolling up acquisitions, squeezing margins, killing innovation, and calling old, hosted software SaaS. We took a different path: a substantial, multi-year R&D investment to build a cloudnative, multi-tenant platform with fully immutable microservices that was ready for single-click AI integration. Intelligent Print Automation is here, and we built it.” While PrinterLogic remains part of the broader Vasion platform, IPA adds eForms, eSignature, OCR-enabled storage, and agentic document processing, all managed through custom no-code workflows. For existing Vasion customers, IPA sits within their existing infrastructure. For new customers, it’s a single platform entry point that replaces what would otherwise require multiple vendors and months of integration work. www.vasion.com

01732 759725 18 insight into customer challenges, competitive pressures and what’s actually landing in conversations. That feedback loop is critical, it ensures our marketing plans are grounded in real partner and customer needs – so what we take to market is relevant, credible and easy to sell. It also helps us move quickly, adapting campaigns or messaging where needed. That close link between sales and marketing builds confidence that what we’re taking to market will resonate and deliver.  Our marketing agencies Our agency partners play a key role in extending what we can deliver as a marketing team. Working with Manchester-based agencies gives us access to additional expertise across content, strategy and campaign execution, helping us bring ideas to life more effectively. They also bring an external perspective, which is invaluable in challenging thinking and keeping us aligned with the latest trends. Beyond execution, they support us with insight and training, ensuring we stay current and continue to evolve how we engage our partners and customers.  A good cup of tea I’m not much of a coffee drinker, so it’s always a good cup of tea while I catch up on emails and plan the day ahead. It’s a small thing, but it gives me a moment of calm before everything gets moving. I’m also quite particular about it – it has to be Twinings English Breakfast. Anything else, doesn’t quite cut it. It’s a simple routine, but one I rely on to start the day properly. working parent knows, happens more often than you’d like. That support has made a huge difference in helping me balance work and home life.  Market data and insights Market data and insights are central to everything I do. They shape the direction of our quarterly and annual category plans and ensure we’re making informed decisions, not assumptions. We review performance data regularly to spot opportunities or risks early and adapt our approach quickly. Alongside that, insight-led research like our Tech Trust Index helps us understand what really matters to IT decision-makers – particularly around what drives trust – things like reliability, predictable costs and transparency. That combination of real-time data and deeper insight allows us to guide our partners more effectively, especially when launching new products or positioning against competitors.  The Brother sales team The sales team are our eyes and ears in the channel. There are 22 of us, all with different areas of expertise, from digital and paid media through to CRM and channel management. I rely on that mix of skills every day, whether it’s shaping campaign plans or sense checking ideas. It means we can build campaigns that are well-rounded, practical and focused on delivering genuine value for our partners – whether that’s clearer positioning, stronger campaigns or tools that are easier to take to market.  My daughter’s grandparents Since returning from maternity leave in September 2024, I couldn’t do my job without the support of my daughter’s grandparents. She spends a day a week with mum and a day with my mother-inlaw, which gives me real peace of mind while I’m working. Knowing she’s in safe hands makes it much easier to focus on the day job. 01732 759725 20 INTERVIEW sure we can deliver something that genuinely works in the real world. And when we can’t provide a solution straight away, that’s just as valuable. It gives me the opportunity to feed those gaps back into development, collaborate with the team, and help shape new capabilities. We’re seeing challenges around things like Windows Print Protected Mode, AirPrint and the rise of mobile and remote printing. I welcome all of it. Bring it on. Each one is a chance to learn, to innovate, and to make the overall print experience better. PITR: What (or who) do you think has had the greatest impact in the sector in recent years? SS: For me, the channel has had the greatest impact in recent years. Building a strong channel, getting their support, and earning their trust is absolutely essential. If partners are willing to invest in your solutions and believe in what you’re doing, that’s massive, I honestly can’t think of anything more important. Outside of the channel, I think a lot of printer manufacturers have really stepped up when it comes to sustainability. Reducing the carbon footprint might sound like a cliché because everyone talks about it, but there are companies out there that genuinely put it first and do it better than others. And that’s huge for me. Seeing manufacturers truly commit to sustainability and make it part of their core message has had a big impact on the sector. PITR: If you could speak directly to someone who inspired or challenged you most in your career, what would you want to say to them today? SS: Early on in my career, my manager described me as having the ability to soak up information like a sponge and retain it. He has no idea of the impact that part of a wider feedback piece actually had on my growth. So, I’d want to say he set a standard that I’ve always tried to live by (and also that I’m still a Bon Jovi fan!). began. I started to learn more about print spoolers and driver management, and understanding the benefits of centralised printing rather than local printing. I quickly became the go-to person for anything print-related in my previous job. The pivotal moment came when I assumed responsibility for a project installing Thinprint at the bank I worked at. I saw the power of the solution and decided there and then I wanted to work there, so I kept an eye out on vacancies, applied and secured a job. I started out as a junior consultant, got promoted to senior technical consultant and now look after our partnerships on a global level. PITR: What excites you most about working in print today? SS: The recognition and trust I’ve earned within the wider end-user computing (EUC) community. I’ve been a regular public speaker at the Experts 2 Experts EUCDEX.Ai conference, it’s a global, non-commercial series of events for EUC professionals and over time I have established myself there as the ‘print guy’. The community awarded me the title of Chief Print Officer in 2022, which is something I’m incredibly proud of. The other thing is the evolution of the digital workspace. The way organisations work is changing constantly, moving from traditional on-premise environments to cloud. That shift creates new challenges for printing because print has to follow that journey and keep up with it. PITR: And what are the biggest frustrations or challenges? SS: Coming up with different print solutions for different scenarios and different use cases. Every customer scenario is different, which means we’re constantly having to design and position print solutions that fit very specific needs. For me, that’s actually part of the excitement, solving those problems, understanding the nuances, and making PrintIT Reseller (PITR): What was your first job in print? Scott Seddon (SS): My first job in print was with the Co-operative Bank in 1999. I worked on the helpdesk raising incidents when print servers went down, and witnessing the impact and importance of print was eye-opening. I assigned incidents to 2nd and 3rd line support, occasionally out of hours. Little did I know back then that I would eventually become that 2nd and 3rd line support engineer, travelling in the early hours to data centres to fix the very print servers I once escalated. Those same print servers I would later virtualise and eventually prove we no longer need at Thinprint. PITR: What led you to enter the sector? Did you choose print by design, or accident? SS: I spent 25 years in the end-user computing space prior to joining Thinprint. I started off as a help desk assistant taking first line calls for technical problems and then I moved into second line support which is when I started dealing with print and that’s really where my interest in printing Scott Seddon, Global Technical Partnerships Manager, Thinprint, shares details of his life in print, what he’s learned, and the highs and the lows of our unique and challenging industry My life in print Scott Seddon
