technologyreseller.co.uk 17 Giacom, a channel-only marketplace and software provider supporting more than 6,000 UK MSPs, resellers and technology providers, marked its recent partnership with cybersecurity Huntress with an exclusive launch at Events @ No 6 in the City of London. The day’s mix of expert sessions, live demonstrations and one-to-one conversations gave MSPs the opportunity to discover more about a company that already manages more than five million endpoints and 15 million identities in 270,000 organisations and, in particular, how it can help partners build and scale managed security services without the cost and complexity of operating their own 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC). Designed to make enterprise-grade products accessible to all businesses, the Huntress Agentic Security Platform provides end‑to‑end protection for endpoints, identities, data and employees. It includes Managed EDR, Managed ITDR, Managed SIEM, Security Awareness Training and Identity Security Posture Management (ISPM), helping MSPs extend security across endpoints, identities and users without having to build their own specialist capabilities, backed by a 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) that stops cyber threats on behalf of partners and their customers before they cause harm. A key attraction for MSP partners is Huntress’s ability to layer additional managed detection and response capabilities over existing security frameworks, particularly Microsoft environments. Rather than requiring customers to rip out and replace antivirus and security tools they already use, including Microsoft Defender, Huntress allows MSPs to strengthen their customers’ protection while preserving existing technology investments. Dedicated sessions A ‘Huntress & Microsoft: Better Together’ session explored how Huntress Managed Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Managed Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR) complement Microsoft security technologies and add 24/7 AI-centric monitoring, investigation and response to combat machinespeed threats. This enables MSPs to develop more comprehensive managed security services without having to recruit, build and operate their own round-the-clock SOC. It also allows them to layer additional managed security services over technologies already deployed across their customer base, creating new recurring revenue opportunities and increasing the value of existing customer relationships. Other sessions included ‘Wrecking Hackers with Huntress’, which examined how Huntress detects, investigates and responds to threats, alongside practical guidance for partners looking to introduce Huntress into their security portfolios. Carl Oliver, Head of Product and Cloud Practice at Giacom, said: “The opportunity for MSPs in cybersecurity is significant, but building and operating a 24/7 security operation takes considerable time, investment and specialist resource. Huntress gives partners a faster, scalable route to delivering managed security services, with 24/7 monitoring, investigation and response without the need to build those capabilities themselves. It complements security technologies their customers already use, helping partners strengthen protection, get more value from existing investments and expand their managed security offering.” Nick O’Donovan, Head of Sales, EMEA at Huntress, added: “Giacom’s approach recognises that effective cybersecurity is built in layers, with the right combination of protection depending on each customer’s needs. That philosophy aligns very closely with how we see the market. Huntress complements the wider Giacom cybersecurity portfolio particularly well because it can strengthen what MSPs already have in place. That’s especially valuable in Microsoft environments, where partners can add human-led monitoring, investigation and response while getting more from their customers’ existing security investments.” www.giacom.com www.huntress.com MSPs learn about Huntress platform at Giacom launch event Built to scale DISTRIBUTION The real deal Cablelines and Cablenet founder Peter Pearson returns to cabling market Peter Pearson, one of the longest-serving names in UK network cabling, has returned to the fray with the launch of RealCABLE, a trade-only supplier of network cabling and connectivity products based in Leicestershire. This marks the start of a new chapter for Pearson who founded Cablelines in 1983, selling it to Comtec Cable Accessories in 2018, followed by Cablenet in 1996, which he grew into a business shipping millions of patch leads a year before it was acquired by CMS Distribution in 2023. Pearson, with his son Greg, who worked across the Cablenet group of companies between 2014 and 2019, is planning to provide customers with a level of service that he believes has been eroded by consolidation among the sector’s larger suppliers. He said: “I have watched this market consolidate for years, and it is the buyer who has paid for it. Accounts take weeks to open. Credit limits bear little relation to how a business actually trades. When an order goes wrong, nobody has the authority to put it right. RealCABLE exists to do the basics properly: stock on the shelf, an account open within the hour, and a person who answers the phone.” RealCABLE launches with an initial portfolio of more than 1,000 product lines and over 100,000 cable products in stock across four categories – computer cables, ethernet network patch leads, fibre optic cables, and structured cabling and power – with custom cables built to order at the company’s Leicestershire workshop. Trade accounts are opened within an hour with every customer assigned a dedicated account manager, alongside live stock visibility and project quoting from day one. Orders on stocked lines are dispatched the same day, with next-day delivery across mainland UK. realcable.co.uk/request-account Carl Oliver
