01732 759725 36 ONE-TO-ONE way of capturing information from the documents that they’re scanning on behalf of their customers, deliver higher value and take on more complex projects. MR: Looking ahead, where do you see the strongest growth opportunities? Which sectors are showing the greatest potential for adopting intelligent document processing solutions? RT: Financial services, banking and insurance. We’ve been more and more successful in the legal sector as well; we’ve had a couple of really good projects recently. One involved a major insurance/financial services organisation that was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of documents they were having to ingest into the business. This wasn’t just paper; it included digital documents and was well into seven figures of items per year. One of the problems was that they had to manually look at each document, determine what it is and the key information they need, and therefore where does it go. With Info Input Solution, they’ve been able to take out the vast majority of that manual effort. The big selling point for them was the automatic classification of a document. You can literally drop in dozens or hundreds of documents into in any organisation that’s got high volumes, we’ve been successful because of our equipment. The two areas that have probably embraced it more than others across our customer base would probably be the healthcare sector and bureaus/BPOs. Within healthcare, we’re seeing many NHS trusts bring outsourced processes back in-house because they want more control. They’re looking to scale up operations and adapt as different departments have different requirements. Info Input Solution helps because of its thin-client, browserbased architecture that makes it easy to scale. It’s easy to add users and customise workflows for each department. It’s something that they can take control of themselves and that’s a that’s a key thing. One of the other main things for NHS trusts is visibility of what’s going on, where and how often. The audit trail allows them to make sure that they’re meeting the right compliance standards. Customers have invested in Info Input Solution and others have migrated from our more established Capture Pro software for those reasons. The bureau/BPO sector is a tougher market than it was 10 years ago. It’s very competitive and margins are challenging. What Info Input Solution does is give them a more capable I remember implementing one of these systems for a customer, they had a dedicated scanning station where the operator would scan all the invoices, and put them into a box underneath the desk, the digital invoices would get processed but they kept the physical paper ‘just in case’ because they weren’t sure they entirely trusted this new technology. When I returned a couple of months later, the boxes had gone. I think it’s the same thing with AI. People want to see what it can do first, assess the results and build up their trust gradually. We can do that with Kodak Alaris and Info Input Solution because we can allow the operators to eyeball and validate as much as they want before saying yes, that’s okay. But at some point, they’ll say it’s actually working fine for us, maybe we’ll do a random one in 100 spot check just to make sure that we’re on track. It’s new technology; people will build their trust with it over time. MR: How successfully has the updated IDP platform been adopted within your core customer base, and what kinds of outcomes are you seeing? RT: We have a very varied customer base. We do a lot within the public sector, bureaus and BPO environments, …continued
