The new compact EcoTank printers combine high quality printing with ultra-low running costs, modern connectivity features and a more compact than ever space-saving design that the company says is at least 25% smaller than competitor models. As part of Epson’s cartridgefree EcoTank range, the new models feature refillable high-capacity ink tanks and include up to three years’ worth of ink in the box. With integrated Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct connectivity, users can easily print from laptops, smartphones and tablets, while enhanced support for mesh Wi-Fi networks helps to deliver a stable and reliable wireless printing experience. The printers also feature Epson’s Smart Panel app, enabling users to print, copy and scan directly from their smart devices, as well as monitor ink levels, troubleshoot issues and manage printer settings remotely. Key features include 40 ppm (A4) print speed and 1200 x 1200 dpi output quality; a new 4.3” capacitive touch LCD with Easy UI mode, preview function to help reduce errors and reprints (preview requires optional ISD); 50-sheet DSPF, scan speeds up to 46/92 ipm with status indicator, plus optional scanning for searchable documents; easy cloud access and connectivity to support cloud-based collaboration; standard wireless LAN, plus mobile print support including NFC tag, QR code support, and Sharp’s mobile apps/plugins (latest firmware required for some functions); and robust security, TPM is standard, plus features such as data overwriting, SSL certificate verification, user/ printer authentication and audit log support. Unavailable features simply won’t appear on screen, and administrators can issue a temporary trial license to instantly restore service if a renewal is delayed in procurement.
